NFFA-Europe has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 654360 AN OPEN ACCESS RESEARCH INFRASTRUCTURE for experimental & theoretical nanoscience Coordinated by

The overall offer TA Transnational Access activities performed at nano-laboratories and ALSFs, will provide the opportunity to support comprehensive projects for multidisciplinary research at the nanoscale integrating theory and numerical analysis, structural and morphological characterization, electronic and chemical characterization, and magnetic, optical and electric characterization. JRA Joint Research activities will develop methods and tools at the frontier in nanoscience research and will feed back into an improved offer of the research infrastructure to carry out academic as well as industrial projects. NA Networking activities designed and organized to foster an effective interface with the wide-ranging user communities. It will make experimental data suitable for industrial exploitation.

Open Access trough a Single Entry Point Proposal Submission via the NFFA.eu Portal Technical & scientific assistance by a Technical Liaison Network, TLNet, a team of experts assisting the user in the submission of a well- structured proposal in terms of technical feasibility. Review by a panel of international experts to guarantee the scientific excellence and innovation of selected proposals

Competitive access (peer-reviewed proposals) to state of the art nanoscience facilities Integrated with the large scale infrastructures for fine analysis, e.g. synchrotron radiation sources, free electron lasers, neutron sources at European level. In Trieste we integrate access to NFFA-MIUR, IOM-CNR (TASC and DEMOCRITOS- SISSA), Elettra Sincrotrone Treiste and FERMI@Elettra laboratories, realizing an advanced level of synergy among research excellences

The Italian contribution as coordinator and access provider www.Trieste.nffa.eu

Implemented thanks to the MIUR-funded Trieste.NFFA.eu demonstrator project and to the EC H2020-funded NFFA-Europe Research & Innovation Action, the NFFA project has laid the foundations for the construction in the forthcoming years of a full-size nanoscience foundry facility that will be unique in Italy, based on the strong synergies with the main research infrastructures in the field of nanoscience in FVG and fully embedded in the European Research Area open to the wider international user community. www.Trieste.NFFA.eu www.NFFA.euwww.Trieste.NFFA.euwww.NFFA.eu
