4 4 What’s the point of the Leadership Approach in Rotary? It’s not Managerialism – Managers get things done with the support of others and ensures order and continuity.....Rotary examples? Leaders – bring innovation, inspire people and see opportunities to ‘make a difference’

5 5 Why Is the Leadership Approach Needed? Tradition of annual cycles has not been effective Establishes a multi-year coordinated plan Need for greater Continuity, Consistency, and Consensus Ability of ALL club members to voice the focus of the club....and for your Club?

6 6 5 Planning Questions Who are we? Where are we? Where do we want to be? (Vision) How will we get there? (Action plan) How will we know when we’ve arrived?....and for your Club?

7 7 Goals for 3 years ahead SMART Goals Presented at the Club Assembly Input and consensus from members (think about a Club Questionnaire OR a Club Visioning Event) Continuity in Leadership for your Committees with the 3-year cycle Goals in put to Rotary Club Central and progress updated What is a Club Leadership Plan

It’s a tool where the club members meet together with a trained Rotarian facilitator to: Provide a consensus of where the club would like to be in 3 years time Engages a shared commitment to specific goals towards that vision 3-hour session with a proven methodology that has worked effectively for clubs in other Districts

15 15 District 1010 Leadership Assembly Sunday 19 th April 2015, Beach Ballroom, Aberdeen An event that your Club Committee Chairs should attend – breakout groups in morning Exhibition with stands for Rotary Avenues of Service and support functions New format will be interesting and inspiring Plenary in the afternoon with 3 ‘elevator’ talks on Rotary Themes and Round-table discussion and feedback Keynote speech from an international sportsperson
