2. Activity ► 20-21 July 2009 ► Mr. Ishii came to visit CIL in Thailand ► DPI/AP introduces to visit 3 CIL in Thailand. ► 1. Phutthamonton Independent Living Center ► 2. Nakhonpathom Independent Living Center for person with disabilies. ► 3. Nonthaburi Independent Living Center

3. The Objective ► Mr. Ishii has Idea to prefer car for Independent Living Center (CIL) in Asia-Pacific. ► He want to observe need car of CIL in Thailand first and after that he will present the project to the Nippon Foundation board committee.

4. 1. Phutthamonthon Independent Living Center ► Mr. Ishii from The Nippon Foundation Ms. Kwanruthai And Ms. Sureeporn from DPI/AP on 20 th July went to visit Phutthamonthon Independent Living Center to study they activities. Today they has Peer Support Group in the community. About 20 member came to join the program. But they are not so severe. Severe peoples’ with disability they are can’t came because of transportation to difficult for them they don’t have car to take them. Anther one problem is they don’t have personal assistant to support them. And also some peoples’ with disability they are don’t have confident to go out to join activities. CIL need to has more empower program to them.

Nakhonpathom Independent Living Center for People with Disability ► In the office Mr.Teerawat Sripathomsawas Director of CIL and Mr.Sanya he is Manager and 2 staff. ► They are have many activities because person with disabilities can’t come to receive service from CIL we have to go out to keep service to them e.g. peer support group, Information service and also health support in the community. ► They are want to have van with life and have 4 seat and If possible they want to have shower car. ► They are can prefer for maintainant and gasoline for the car to do activities. ► If they have car it will be safe transportation better then now.

Nonthaburi Independent Living Center ► Nonthaburi CIL now they don’t have car normally they are use staff’s car rentals car and use local government’s car to pickup member to do activity in the community. They use a lot of money for transportation in the year. If they have own car they will safe budget for transportation costs. They can manage budget for maintainant and gasoline from activities project. ► They are need to have van with life. ► In Nonthaburi has new 2 IL group 1.Bangkrang CIL 2.Bangrak Phatthana CIL. They are need to have small car (pickup) and Van with ramp.

9. Photos of Nonthaburi ILC In Thailand they have The Council of Independent Living (TIL) They are also have to travel a lot for monitoring the IL project in anther province. They need to have car for activities.
