Conclusion Through our survey we found that a vast majority of people found that Gatorade was not only better tasting but more satisfying and in possession of more salt. People also came to a consensus agreeing that Gatorade was healthier, more filling, and a better source of energy. The fact that Gatorade does have more salt as well as less sugar shows that the participants of our taste test survey provided surprisingly accurate assessments when answering the questions provided by our research team. The results of our survey show that PowerAde is not a competitor with Gatorade in the sense that PowerAde can not compete with Gatorade in quality and consumer satisfaction.

Performance Review This nutritional information shows that Gatorade better replenishes athletes after a serious workout thanks to double the amount of sugar. It also shows that PowerAde is the worse drink to drink before a workout because of the increased amount of sugar which can be detrimental to performance. In our survey we found that athletes realized

Nutritional Information
The following nutritional information can be found on the label of a typical PowerAde or Gatorade bottle- PowerAde: serving size 8 fl oz; calories 70; fat 0g; sodium 55mg; potassium 30mg; total carbohydrates 19g; sugars 15g; protein 0g; vitamin b6 10%; vitamin b12 10%; niacin 10% Gatorade: 8 fl oz; calories 50; total fat 0g; sodium 110mg; potassium 30mg; total carbohydrates 14g; sugars 14g

Analysis From our research we can conclude that in most situations if a person had the choice between Gatorade and PowerAde they would pick Gatorade. This information is important to both companies Coca Cola (the producer of PowerAde) and Pepsi (the producer of Gatorade). The companies can look at the information we collected to form marketing strategies.

Analysis Continued Coca Cola in trying to compete with Gatorade should not compare PowerAde to Gatorade, because that would only serve to promote Gatorade, but rather try to market PowerAde in areas where sports drinks are not being sold to develop a relationship with consumers. Another strategy would be to place PowerAde in Coke advertisements. While Gatorade is preferred in the sports drinks category Coke is preferred over Pepsi in the soft drink category. This strategy would serve to link Cokes not so favorable product with its namesake and very profitable product.

Analysis Continued Pepsi to market Gatorade should look to sell Gatorade wherever PowerAde is sold because that in effect would be encroaching upon Coke’s sports drink market share. Since Gatorade is better liked then PowerAde selling Gatorade in more places and offering taste tests with notional information from both brands would likely steal customers from Coca Cola that had never before either noticed the difference between the two brands or who felt that the improved performance the same way.
