2 Milford Rail Road Milford rail road is no longer used. Milford rails opened in 1859. Nine years later the Beer’s Atlas displayed an engine house and station. The rail road station was very important to the town. The rail road helped Milford grow financially.

3 Abbott’s Mill Abbott’s Mill is located two miles southwest of Milford. It has survived in excellent condition as a late nineteenth to an early-twentieth-century mill. Nathaniel Whiley was the founder of the site. In 1795 he built a saw mill in that territory. The mill was replaced in the late 1800’s.

4 Todd House The Todd House was built in 1859 by Henry Todd. In 1859 Henry Todd tore down the small house. Shortly after Todd built this magnificent house, the attached office building was built as the home to John Kirk’s print shop. The Todd House has been used for offices since the late 19 th century.

5 Indian River Life Saving Station The station at Indian River was not the only building to be constructed under the plan. The purpose of the of the Life Saving Station was at that time to rescue ships that had gotten caught up in the near by dangerous places. Since 1880 the station has been changed and was moved at least once. One storm had left the building buried.
