2 Student Employment Cooperative Education Services provide many benefits. If you are interested in obtaining job referrals, learning interview strategies, attending job seeking skills related workshops, or interfacing with employers, this is the place to go.

3 Writing Centers For SLCC Students-The SLCC Student Writing Center works with Salt Lake Community College students on all their college writing projects. The SLCC Student Writing Center helps SLCC students to improve as writers and to succeed as students. We Offer: Math & Sciences (walk-in tutoring) Learning Emporium (beginning math 0900-0990) Online Tutoring Math Final Reviews Focused Tutoring (one-on-one tutoring) Tutor Training Learning Support and Tutoring Services Related Services: ESL (English as a Second Language program) ESL Lab (walk-in tutoring for international students) Reading Center (help with reading assignments and support for international students) Writing Center (free, in-person and online writing advising for all SLCC students enrolled in any class)

4 Learning Center The mission of the SLCC Learning Center Programs is to provide FREE tutorial services to students enrolled in various courses offered by the college in order to promote student success. We strive to help our students to build confidence, defeat anxieties, and develop a greater appreciation for education and learning.

6 Academic Advising The mission of Academic & Career Advising is to develop an interactive, informative, and supportive environment where all students can plan, explore access resources, make decisions, and evaluate their academic and career goals. The Academic and Career Advising department is here to assist you with your academic career at Salt Lake Community College. Whether you are a new, continuing, transfer, or undecided student, this site has a wealth of information about SLCC programs, policies, and resources that are crucial for your success. 7 The DRC The Mission of the Disability Resource Center (DRC) is to foster student inclusion into the Salt Lake Community College through processes which are accurate and understandable and which support the personal, educational and social growth of students with respect, optimism and caring. This is accomplished by: Reasonable accommodations are based on an evaluation of the specific requests of the student, an evaluation of individual needs, a review of previous accommodations, and the recommendations of outside professionals, course requirements, specific classroom situations, and instructor input. In order to receive accommodation under ADA, a student must apply for services through the DRC.

8 Financial Aid This helps students get access to federal grants and student loans so that they are able to afford college and attend without worrying about tuition. It helps in completing FAFSA so that students are able to receive government grants.

9 Student Activities/Clubs This center of resources for activities and clubs has several liaisons in charge of all different clubs. You can even start your own club or join any club that is of interest to you through www.OrgSync.com

10 Health and Wellness The health and wellness center is a student resource center that provides medical and professional help to students in order to have a healthy mental and physical state. They provide counseling sessions as well as massages. The hours for the health and wellness center at the Taylorsville campus are Monday, Tuesday, and Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm and Wednesday, Thursday 10:00 am to 4:30 pm.

11 Thayne Center This is a place on campus where students can check out books, music and DVDs. It also makes for a great study center. Books can be checked out for up to 28 days and DVDs and CDs for a week. The Thayne Center Library helps students learn further to succeed in their classes. The hours of the library are Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm

12 Library our library card is your SLCC OneCard. OneCard ID Centers are located at the Information Desk in the Student Center at Redwood, and in room W175 at South City. Call (801) 957-4022 for more information. Community User Cards for non-SLCC personnel are available at Library Circulation desks for $20.00 per year. Community borrower cards DO NOT allow home access to databases. Faculty and students who attend one of the other UALC colleges or Universities in the state may present student IDs from their school to check out materials. Library staff will give them a card to use when checking out material here. Check the UALC website to see if your school is part of the consortium. Your library ID is your Student "S" number

13 Relating to the Students All of these student resources are here to help us students succeed in our journey through college, and all of these resources relate to us because we are students at Salt Lake Community College and these centers were built to help the students with any problem they have along the way.
