3. In 2007 the Equality and Human Rights Commission took Transgender out of the Diversity Strand Sexual Orientation and aligned it with Gender Registered Charity No. 1116321

4. The Commission gave the word Transgender the Definition “someone who is intending to, in the process of or has transitioned from one gender to the other” Registered Charity No. 1116321

5. This created an extra Diversity Strand Giving 7 strands where there were previously only 6

13. Transsexual A person confirmed as having GD in which there is strong and ongoing cross-gender identification and a desire to live and be accepted as a member of the opposite gender. There is persistent discomfort with his or her anatomical sex and sense of inappropriateness in the gender role of that sex. (this is a medical diagnosis)

24. It is only by dissecting the Hypothalamus That a definite diagnosis could be given for those who are Transsexual. As this would have to be ‘post-mortem’ It is not a brilliant diagnostic tool.

26. Often Gender Variant children know that they ‘do not fit’ into their perceived gender from a very young age.

46. Registered Charity No. 1116321 The wording of The Equalities Act 2010 Ensures that those who are in the process of transitioning are protected against Hate Crime

47. Registered Charity No. 1116321 Chrysalis works with the Hampshire Constabulary To ensure that our Beneficiaries are confident enough to report any Hate Crime

48. The LAGLO who has volunteered To be familiar with each group Is a regular visitor and Can be contacted through the group Facilitator Registered Charity No. 1116321

49. The support each LAGLO can give is very valuable and we have many testimonies that support this close relationship Registered Charity No. 1116321

50. There have been several incidents that the LAGLO has been able to address without resorting to prosecution. This has enabled our beneficiaries to stay in their homes in safety.

51. Registered Charity No. 1116321 Having a uniformed officer arrive on the doorstep of the perpetrator and tell them that they have committed a criminal offence Is a daunting experience.

52. Registered Charity No. 1116321 Then the Officer will inform them that they are not being arrested, this time, due to the generous nature of the victim. This is often a better option than prosecution.

53. Registered Charity No. 1116321 In each case the details of those who committed the Hate Crime are kept on file and any second offence will not be treated so leniently.

55. Registered Charity No. 1116321 One serious incident resulted in prison sentences for the perpetrators and closure of the recreational venue involved
