6 The Pueblo were cliff dwellers. They built homes of adobe brick on cliffs and on mesas. Homes were stacked one on top of the other like an apartment complex. Sometimes they were stacked four high. Adobe Brick

7 In the desert southwest, many Native Americans lived in pueblo communities. This painting by artist George Nelson shows how everyday life might have been at a pueblo near El Paso, Texas.

8 A tepee is a Plains Native American home. It is made of buffalo hide fastened around long wooden poles, designed in a cone shape.
