Raise awareness and commitment to the Spotlight process Make sure that strategic stakeholders understand why and who decided to Spotlight the topic in this area Confirm, duration, scope and reporting Look at membership of project board/review panel/commissioners (and relationship to SSP) Identify of project team members during analysis phase - may change during planning and delivery phases Explore possible timetable - is there a shared view (risks and benefits)? Try and find out which bits of topic are hardest and why? Where would strategic stakeholders most like to see activity/solutions? Surface hopes and concerns about the process – dispel myths and address issues head on Make sure that strategic stakeholders know what is going to happen next Resources Flip charts of stages – put up around the roomGiant Post its Agenda on flip chart or pin boardMarker Pens Camera to record flip chartsDots to vote Recruit a willing, influential, senior stakeholder to act as Champion for the Spotlight Stage 1: Resources – Strategic Launch

Use the knowledge and expertise of the people in the room to gain a sense of their understanding Presentation on Issue and Areas chosen:  Why Spotlight Issue in Place  Questions  Which bits of these topics are most difficult for your organisations? Which bits do you think that Spotlight should deal with? ? key facts about topics and areas Record these issues Stage 1: Resources – Strategic Launch

4 Toolkit 16:00- 16:30 Stakeholders: To check that we have the right people involved ADDRESS ROLES AND INVOLVEMENT TO MAKE SURE PEOPLE FEEL INCLUDED/ BOUGHT IN? Discussion guided by following questions to be recorded on post its on boards  Who needs to be involved? Individuals and organisations – include who we already know about  Any gaps?  Who are absolutely key? Collate answers on boards 16.30Hopes, Fears and Solutions: To surface issues at the beginning of the process and to look for solutions as a group Guided discussion based on  What are your hopes for the process?  What are your concerns?  What are the solutions? ? to lead and record on boards Two boards one hopes, one fears divided in two with suggested solutions.
