2. Mutual recognition arrangement is an intergovernmental agreement which simplifies certification processes and reduces time and costs for approval when vehicles are imported and exported. It is agreed that APEC economies should recognize WP29 provides opportunities for mutual recognition of type approval certificates for vehicle parts and components.
