2. What are they? I am a trap on the goldfields (mounted police officer).

3. Why did they call them “Traps” They called me a trap because I trapped\captured miners without a license.

4. What was their main mission? My main mission was to capture miners\diggers without a gold license and get paid for it.

5. What did they wear? I wore blue, black, red, white clothing and gold clothing.

6. Why were they hated? I was hated because I bullied the miners by taking their gold and sometimes hitting them.

7. How did they survive? I lived normally in my huts and tents.

8. What did they use for transport? I usually used horses for transport because it was better than walking and saving energy.

9. What did they eat? I ate sea food, chicken, fruit, vegetables and mutton. Vegetables Fruit Mutton Chicken Seafood

10. How old do they have to be? I had to be 20 years and up to be a Trap.

11. Why were they needed? I was needed so I could catch diggers/miners without a license and keep an eye on them.

12. Were they rich? No, I was not rich because the government didn’t supply me with a lot of money.

13. How did they track unlicensed diggers down? How unlicensed diggers were found when I went out “digger hunting” and if I found them I would probably arrest them and may cause imprisonment.

14. Were there anymore names for them? Yes, Troopers, Traps, Miner hunters, Trippers, Joes’ and a police officer/mounted police officer (Croopers).
