2 Doc: IEEE 802.15-13-0648-00-0008 Submission Frame structure (TDD) November 2013 Hernandez,Li,Dotlić,Miura (NICT)Slide 2 S-L 1 =synchronization for L 1 RS-L 1 =reference signals for L 1 RA=random access or channel sounding for MIMO or beamforming. L 1 =PD 1 transmits and PD 2 receives L 2 =PD 2 transmits and PD 1 receives GP=guard period

3 Doc: IEEE 802.15-13-0648-00-0008 Submission Frame structure (TDD) GP=(73+1024)T s =71.42 µsec T p =1 Km/3x10 8 m/s=3.3 µsec (worst case). Last symbol of PD 1 arrives to PD 2 after T p, the symbol is detected, PD 2 switches from Rx to Tx. Then, the first transmitted symbol of PD 2 arrives to PD 1 after T p. T p +T dec +T sw +T comp +T p =GP –T dec =time to detect the last symbol –T sw =time to switch from Rx to Tx or vice-versa –T comp =compensation time to align to GP November 2013 Hernandez,Li,Dotlić,Miura (NICT)Slide 3

5 Doc: IEEE 802.15-13-0648-00-0008 Submission TDD frame configuration November 2013 Hernandez,Li,Dotlić,Miura (NICT)Slide 5 Note that when two or more PDs use a TDD configuration, a 3 rd PD joining the Group would require to adopt that TDD configuration as well. In other words, dynamic asymmetric traffic in a Group of PDs would be difficult to manage, but feasible.
