2 List three characters in your drama and give the role of each. (3 marks) Answer: Jimmy – policeman Jean – mum James - son This would get 0 points. Why? Discuss with partner and change it so you would get 3 points.

3 Think about the most important relationship between your character and one other character. (a) What was the relationship between these two characters? (2 marks) Answer: They didn’t like each other. This would get 0 points – discuss with a partner why and write a better response to get the 2 points.

4 ( b) What was the most important moment in your drama for the relationship between these two characters? Why? (3 marks) Answer: The point when James shot Jean was the most important because he didn’t like her. This would get 1 point. Why? Re-write it making up the details. Hint: Movement must be mentioned. Worth 3 points.

5 (c) In what ways would you have liked to use theatre arts to enhance this moment? Give reasons for your answer. (6 marks) Answer: James had a gun as a prop. We could use fake blood when Jean is shot and dramatic music could be played. This answer would only get 3 out of 6 possible marks. Why? Make it get the full 6 marks.

6 You have developed your drama from a stimulus to presentation. What skills were important during this process? (4 marks) Answer: Respond to stimulus. Offer ideas, discuss, give out roles, choose form and structure, cast, rehearse, review, add theatre arts, perform, evaluate. This would get perhaps just 1 point out of 4. Why? Make it get the full marks.

What could you put for 2 marks?

9 Where is the action taking place? (1 mark) Answer: On Sauchiehall st in Glasgow, outside the shops This will get the 1 mark. It is not vague, but is very specific.

10 List the props that character A might have. (2 marks) Answer: a hat, jacket and a beard. This would get 0 marks. Why? What could you put to get the full 2 marks.

11 What costume would character B wear and why? (3 marks) Answer: Normal clothes. This would get 0 marks. Why? What could you put to get the full 3 marks?

12 Suggest a sound effect that could be used with this script. Give a reason for your choice. (2 marks) Answer: music from a busker, siren in the distance, birds tweeting, traffic noises. This would only get 1 mark out of 2. Why?

13 Read the following scenario. Scene 1 You meet a friend to explain you are going on a blind date. You are fed-up with your present “ date ” because you are always arguing. You are really quite excited about your blind date tonight. Scene 2 You meet your blind date and it turns out to be your present girlfriend/boyfriend. Describe your voice and movement in scene 1. (5 Marks)

14 Answer: Voice – high pitched because I am so excited. Fast pace also to show the excitement. Excited tone of voice, but also a bit of a nervous tone. Movement- Gesture of sorting my hair to make sure I look nice, smiling facial expression to show I’m looking forward to the date, dancing about from foot to foot to show I’m nervous. This would get the full 5 marks. There are 3 voice terms and 2 movement terms and there are also reasons why. Now, with a partner try and get the full 5 marks describing voice and movement in Scene 2.
