15. Part-time Teaching Guiding Principles “Adjunct Faculty” is a person employed in an instructional capacity on a part-time, semester-to-semester basis by the District. Adjunct Faculty are “at-will” employees. This means that Adjunct Faculty may terminate employment with the District at any time, with or without notice or cause. It also means that the District can terminate the employment of Adjunct Faculty at any time, with or without notice or cause. As at-will employees, Adjunct Faculty are not guaranteed, in any manner, that they will be employed for any set period of time. Any oral or written statements or promises to the contrary are not binding upon the District. Employment of Adjunct Faculty by the District for each Instructional Assignment is considered to begin one calendar week before the first day of classes and end on the deadline for completion of all examinations and the submission of the final grade roster, or as otherwise directed by the Division/Department Chair.
