John 3:14-16 (John 3:14) Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the desert, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, {15} that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life. {16} "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

We can’t match wits with God (Isaiah 29:14-16) “…the wisdom of the wise will perish, the intelligence of the intelligent will vanish.” … {16} You turn things upside down, as if the potter were thought to be like the clay! Shall what is formed say to him who formed it, "He did not make me"? Can the pot say of the potter, "He knows nothing"?

How people reject God’s salvation 1.Blatant Evil – They ignore and suppress God’s truth by doing wickedness (Romans 1:18-31). 2.Self-righteous Pride – They trust in self-righteousness but reject God’s righteousness through Christ (Romans 3:20-22; 10:3-4)

Suppressing the revelation of God by doing evil (Romans 1:18-20) The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness, {19} since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. {20} For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities--his eternal power and divine nature--have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse. (Romans 1:24-25) Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. {25} They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator--who is forever praised. Amen. Suppress Truth Make Idols Do Evil

How people reject God’s salvation 1.Blatant Evil – They ignore and suppress God’s truth by doing wickedness (Romans 1:18-31). 2.Self-righteous Pride – They trust in their own self-righteousness but reject God’s righteousness through Christ (Romans 3:20-22; 10:3-4)

Righteousness comes from God only through Christ (Romans 3:19-22) …all are silenced and the whole world is accountable before a holy God. Therefore no one will be declared righteous in his sight by observing the law… {21} But now a righteousness from God, apart from law, has been made known… {22} This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. (Romans 10:3-4) Since they (religious Jews) did not know the righteousness that comes from God and sought to establish their own, they did not submit to God's righteousness. {4} Christ is the end of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes.

The Power of the Gospel (Romans 1:16-17) I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. {17} For in the gospel a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last...
