4 Why Use Digital Portfolios? Authentic assessment Presentation and public speaking Reflection and critique Connect with teachers, family and peers Provides feedback for teachers on student learning

5 Rationale Rationale: I currently use a Digital Portfolio with my Multimedia students and observed the following: 1.Students discuss, in a meaningful way, what they liked or disliked about a project, which enables me to adjust or revamp my curriculum or lesson plans. 2.Students are able to articulate the process of creating their project and critique what was successful and how they can improve their work in future assignments. 3.Students present portfolios to a committee consisting of parents, peers, administrators and teachers, where learning is taken from the private realm, i.e. the teacher’s folder, to a public audience. Hence, the learning process becomes transparent. 4.Digital Portfolios would allow staff to collaborate on best teaching practices, curriculum and project-based learning.

6 Motivation Digital Portfolios enable staff to collaborate on best teaching practices, curriculum and project-based learning.
