5 Claus Nue Møller5 Danish Trade / Sector Councils The sector councils are a bi-partite cooperation between the representatives of the employers (associations) and employees (trade unions); –Defines the objectives of the vocational education and training activities; –Defines the framework for the content of the VET courses; –Defines the structure and length of the VET activities;

7 Claus Nue Møller7 Tasks of the Sector Councils Objectives: Defines the professional and personal competencies the pupil must achieve. Structure: Defines how the education is structured regarding length, and composition of the school and entreprise modules Educational agreements: Authorised to grant persision to shortening or extension of educational agreements, based on obtained competencies Assessment: Defines which subjects must be included in the education and the level of these subjects Certification: Organises in cooperation with the VET school the final examination – including the practical jouneyman test Apparval of practical training work places: Assessment of practical training work places regarding their ability to provide the students working tasks that match the objectives of the education Tasks of the Sector Councils
