An acute infectious disease caused by a flavivirus. It caused by four closely related virus and transmitted by the bite of the Aedes mosquito. The mosquito also called Aedes Aegypti. It also known as breakbone fever bone-crusher disease. The disease occurs in both epidemic and sporadic form in warm climates.

How it happen..

When a mosquito carrying dengue virus bites a person, the virus enter the skin together with the mosquito saliva. Its bind to and enter the WBC, and reproduces inside the cell while they move throughout the body. The WBC responds by producing anumber of signaling proteins such as “interferon”. Dengue fever

In severe infection, the virus production inside the body is greatly increased and more organ such as liver and bone marrow can be affected and fluid from the bloodstream leaks through the wall of small blood vessel into body cavities. As a result, less blood circulates in the blood vessel and the blood pressure become so low that it cannot supply sufficient blood to vital organ.

Futhurmore, dysfunction of the bone marrow leads to reduce number of platelets, which are necessary for blood clotting, this increases the risk of bleeding.

Patients are kept under mosquito netting. People are urged to empty stagnant water from old tires, trash cans, and flower pots. Wear long pants and long sleeves. Use mosquito repellant sprays. Avoiding standing or staying indoors for two hours after sunrise and before sunset.

Papaya juice is a natural cure for dengue fever. Take acetaminophen to help with the muscle and joint pain. Stay away from mosquitoes when infected with dengue fever. Seek immediate medical attention if dengue fever progresses into dengue hemorrhagic fever. Seek out intravenous fluids or a blood transfusion if needed from dengue hemorrhagic fever.

Headache. Muscular (Myalgia) or bone pain. Nausea and vomiting. Increased sensation to touch. Change in taste sensation. Rash - red and white patchy rashes. Painful aching in the legs and joints
