8 How You Are Graded Homework Assignments Quizzes, if any Chapter Tests Final Exam –Cutoff score on Final Exam 60% –Final Exam is comprehensive

9 When to take tests on Campus The testing schedule will be posted at MyMathLab-> Announcement or Canvas->Announcement or Canvas->Class calendar

12 How much is enough Online assignments are only for grading purpose. You need to do more exercises using the textbook as needed.

13 A Rule of Thumb Two hours study is needed for each hour in class. That is to say for a distance learning class, two hours should be spent for each section.

14 Before each test… Before each test, you always prepare for it by –doing chapter reviews/practice tests in the textbook –doing chapter reviews/practice tests online –review past exams if any –memorizing formulas

15 What to bring when taking tests A photo identification card A calculator specified by the course syllabus A few US #2 pencils Some blank paper

16 After each test… Check your test score at Canvas-Grades Compare your grade with the class average Review those questions you missed

17 If you are new to MyMathLab Walk through the document “MyMathLab Tutorial” that can be downloaded on Canvas->Syllabus

18 Question and Answer 1 Questions: I have used MyMathLab last quarter, do I need register again for MyMathLab? Answer: No, if you are using the current edition of the textbook. The same username and password may apply. You do need to sign for this class by click the link “Enroll another class” once you log on.

19 Question and Answer 2 Question: I am not able to buy a copy of MyMathLab soon due to my financial aid, what should I do? Answer: You can apply for a temporary access code to MyMathLab. Download the instructions for that on Canvas->Syllabus.

20 Question and Answer 3 Questions: If I cannot come to a chapter test as scheduled, can I take it at a different time? Answer: Yes, you can. But serving a three day advanced notice is required.

21 Question and Answer 4 Question: What about rescheduling the final exam? Answer: No. Exceptions to the time of the final exam are not normally granted.
