1 Remains of what is thought to be a human body was found recently. The Sioux Falls Utilities maintenance crew was digging a hole to fix a water main outside the A-wing doors at Roosevelt High School. The utility company was unaware that they were digging up a crime scene. By the time they realized what they had unearthed they had destroyed some of the evidence and the body was unrecognizable. The Sioux Falls Police Department was contacted immediately. Police were able to obtain a body temperature and a few bones from the body. They dusted the scene for fingerprints. Detectives were able to “lift” one print from a vial containing a plant found at the crime scene. Preliminary analysis of the print lead detectives to believe it to be a thumbprint. The police carefully extracted all materials from the crime scene. As they removed the remains they uncovered several other pieces of evidence: 1. bones, 2. a stained shirt, 3. a vial containing a plant, 4. a piece of paper found in the pocket of the stained shirt, 5. thumbprints, 6. fibers, 7. hair/fur and a 8. small unidentified object 9. white particles 10. a body temperature of 72°F. They are requesting your help in figuring out the identity of the victim. The police would like you to link the evidence with a motive to a possible perpetrator. The police have provided you with the following: a video of the crime scene, the above evidence, a recent missing persons’ report, and a list of possible suspects and their thumbprints. Rough Rider Police Department Preliminary Police Report Location of the crime: Near Roosevelt High School Estimated time of occurrence: Mid August First Arriving Officers: Sergeant Mike Ro Scope and Lieutenant Biolo G.
