4. You will be responsible for the following: 1. Reviewing and understanding information presented. 2. Completing and submitting major fact sheet, advising agreement and change of major form. 4

5. Degree Requirements: Overall requirements to complete your degree include completing a minimum of 120 units. At least 42 of those units must be in upper-division (300-400 level) coursework. To graduate you must have a minimum 2.0 GPA in your major, minor, and overall. You are required to have a minor for this degree, unless you are completing a double major. This is a Bachelor of Science degree and therefore, a 2 th semester proficiency in a foreign language is required. The math requirement for this degree is College Algebra or higher. Please see next slide for a chart that reflects this information. 5

7. Public Management Major degree requirements: You must have a minimum of 45 units of Public Management and Policy (PMPC) coursework. At least 18 of these units must be upper- division (300-400 level). At least 18 of the 45 units must be completed at the U of A. A minimum 2.0 GPA is required in the PMPC major. 7

8. Public Management and Policy Introductory Courses Most students take these courses during their sophomore year after completing general education requirements. 1. 9. Major Concentration Courses If you are doing the Public Management Major with a concentration in Criminal Justice you will need to take PA 236 or PA 241. You will then be required to pick 4 additional Criminal Justice Concentration Courses from the list on the following slide. 9

No concentration requirements If you are doing the General Major you will need to complete the following: 1 Environmental( PA 461 or PA 481) and 1 Health and Human services (PA 416 or PA 431) You will also be required to pick 3 additional PA elective classes from the list on the following slide. 11

13. Required Core Courses Students usually take these courses 2 nd semester junior year and senior year PA 330, 410, 470 and 480 (Priority into the core is given to graduating seniors. To gain access to these courses students must complete a course request form before senior priority registration, that can be found on our website: sgpp.arizona.edu) 13

14. Internship PA 393 (Internship) You will be required to complete a 3unit (135 hours) internship with a non-profit organization or a government agency. Students usually complete their internship their senior year. (Freshmen are not eligible for internships) Talk to your advisor for more information. 14

School of Government and Public Policy Fee Students who have earned 60 or more units (Junior Standing) will be charged a $400.00 per semester fee This fee has been used to hire adjuncts and ultimately make more seats available to Political Science and Public Management majors The School is also excited about beginning a Speaker Series, bringing professionals from the field to UA to speak to SGPP students The School plans to hold events to help students grow professionally such as resume writing workshops 16
