Information from instruments that ‘extend our senses’ (telescopes, microscopes, thermometers or scales).
Observations are your data and evidence.

Inferences are explanations or conclusions based on the observations.

A dog urinated on it.
Follow with very brief discussion about how you would determine most logical/likely conclusion (i.e. more details needed to discern between choices).

As a group, come up with one logical inference and at least 3 observations that the inference is based upon.
