2  The Geolocations plugin for Omeka provides a visual representation of an item’s location.  The administrator adds location data on the back end and the user sees Google maps for each item.  This gives users the information they need if they want to visit the physical items.

3  Go to the Settings page on your Omeka site.  Click the Omeka Plugins Directory link at the bottom of the page.  Download the latest Geolocations zip file.  Unzip the file and upload it to your Omeka site via WinSCP or Cyberduck.  Click the install button for the plugin on your Omeka site.

5  Find the latitude and longitude of your general location  New York City  Latitude: 40.76  Longitude: -74  Adjust the zoom level to include your locations  Adjust the height & width of the map image

9  The user sees the map image but does not see the location metadata.  The map does not link directly to GoogleMaps.  Without either of those features, the user cannot get point-to-point directions in order to visit the physical item.
