5.  The micro-system is the inner most layer of Brofenbrenner’s model of the ecological Map.  It contains “ face-to-face settings with which the children are involved ” (Bowes & Grace, 2009, pg 8), which thus, are the most direct influences on the child.  “Settings are seen to influence children not only through their physical features and activities, but through the personality and belief systems of people in those settings” (Bowes & Grace, 2009, pg 8)
