It will help you organize your thoughts before you explain your analysis to your Jigsaw group. Feelings- Mom feels overwhelmed. She is caring for a new baby and a special needs child, both of which she loves dearly, but recognizes that they need a lot of attention. She is tired but keeps pushing forward. Actions- She has been asking for Melody to have a one-on-one assistant for years. Mom doesn’t give up easily and is happy to see that Melody is finally getting additional help. Sayings- She gives Mrs. Billups a piece of her mind when she finds out that she was treating Melody like a baby. She sets the record straight that Melody is smart and has potential… she just needs to be treated as such. Thoughts- With a concerned look on her face, the reader can infer that Mom and Dad have been protective over Melody and are unsure that anyone else will be up for the challenge. By: Mrs. Blanton
