Shortstack Strategy: How do you play before the flop? Strategy: No Limit

In this video ► How your position at the table influences how your play. ► How you play when no one has raised in front of you. ► How you play when there was already a raise before you. ► How you play when someone raises after you.

What position are you in? Dealer 2 late positions 3 middle positions 3 early positions 2 blind positions ► What happens when there are less than 10 players?

► If no one has entered the hand before you, you always raise to 4 Big Blinds. ► You raise to 1 Big Blind more for every player that has entered the hand before you How do you play when no one has raised before you?

Which cards do you play when no one has raised before you? You are in...You play... Early Position All pairs as of two Jacks (JJ, QQ, KK, AA) Ace King (AK) Middle Position All pairs as of two Nines (99 up to AA) Ace King, Ace Queen (AK, AQ) Late Position or in the blinds All pairs as of two Sevens (77 up to AA) Ace King, Ace Queen, Ace Jack (AK, AQ, AJ) King Queen (KQ) You raise to 4 big blinds + 1 big blind for every player that has entered the hand before you. If your hand is not listed for the respective position, you fold it.

► (1) You are in early position and have two queens. You raise, assuming no one has raised in front of you, since the chart says to play pocket jacks or better ► (2) You are in early position and have pocket tens. You fold, since the chart says to only play jacks or better from early position. ► (3) You are in late position and have pocket tens. You raise, as long as no one already raised in front of you, since the chart says to play pocket sevens or better from late position. ► (4) You are in middle position with AK. One player raises in front of you.. Examples

► The situation changes as soon as someone raises before or after you. ► You will simply fold most of your hands. ► You go all-in with all playable hands. How do you play when there is a raise before or after you?

Which hands do you play when against a raise before or after you? Who raised? You go all-in with... Exactly one player has raised before you. All pairs as of two Jacks (JJ, QQ, KK, AA) Ace King (AK) There were several raises in front of youAll pairs as of two Kings (KK, AA) There is a raise behind you. All pairs as of two Tens (TT, JJ, QQ, KK, AA) Ace King (AK) If someone has raised before you or raises behind you, your only move is to go all-in. If your hand is not listed for the respective situation, you fold it.

► (1) You are in early position with pocket queens. You raise, and then someone raises behind you. You go all-in ► (2) You are in late position with AQ. One player raises in front of you. This time you fold. ► (3) You are in late position with pocket queens. One player raises in front of you, then another player raises. Your queens aren‘t strong enough anymore, so you fold. ► When more than one raise is made in front of you, there are only two hands you can play profitably: pocket kings and pocket aces. Examples

Summary ► You only play when you have a strong hand ► Your position at the poker table ► Which cards do you play? ► How much do you bet? Good luck!
