2. Some of my favourite books throughout elementary school were Nancy Drew, the Babysitter Club, Cam Jansen, and Heartland. I loved spending time at the public library and always took home as many books as I could. My mom read to my sister and I frequently, my favourite books she read being the Little House on the Prairie series. She always read before bed and it was clear that she thought reading was a valuable skill. I started to read at a young age and loved to read to my “babies”, especially Dr. Seuss! Elementary School

3. Throughout elementary school I was always successful at the receptive dimensions of Language Arts; I was patient and eager to learn and had no problems with listening, reading and viewing. However, I was very shy and hated to let others see any work I had produced. I enjoyed writing and representing (in art for example), as long as only the teacher would be looking at my work. As for speaking, at my school we were required to do speeches every year after Christmas break. I dreaded it for months every year and never did very well. Photo! 4. HIGH SCHOOL In high school I continued to love reading and hate presentations. I became more familiar with using technology but still only had (and currently have!) a basic knowledge of what I needed to use for school. Also in high school I started to become interested in speaking French and I fell in love with French when I did my exchange to Tours, France in grade 11.

5. I completed my BA at the University of Waterloo. There I improved my reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills due to the amount of assigned readings, essays, exams, presentations and lectures. With French Studies as my major, I studied language, history, literature, and linguistics. During my 3 rd year at UW I spent for one semester at UQAC in Chicoutimi, Quebec. This really helped my French speaking ability. Here at Western I am learning about how to teach Language Arts! I still love to read, mainly novels in English or French!
