Land Use By: Monika K., Megan T., Anissa R., and Robert B.

Group Goal # 1 To help preserve all resources such as land or buildings that are not in the process of being used. Also, keep up with the existing planned and private services involving the land.

Objectives for Goal # 1 1.12 Develop as in fix up or reuse old mills and surrounding villages. 1.8 Reuse old lots that are wasted space. Rather than build on new forested areas.

Picture of our Group Goal # 1 Empty building Building in use Here is a few buildings showing how an abandoned building can be fixed up. Ex: On the left there is a empty building that is not being used. As you see on the right there is a similar building that was reused and has modern building deigns. Coventry could make this same change.

Group Goal # 2 Enforce all improvement for the commercial, industrial, and office development in certain areas of Coventry.

Objectives for Goal # 2 2.6 To consistently look over the town and its sights for a better looking place that meets the standards of the town.

Picture of Group Goal # 2 This is what Coventry could look like

Map of Sandy Bottom road…… Think of the new water building on this road. Why cut down so many trees to build it? Shouldn’t we only clear the land that is being used? This sort of zoning law would make our developed areas more eye appealing.

Future and Past maps of Coventry Rhode Island…

Here is a map of the land that is existing in Coventry. If we cut down more trees there will be less oxygen. The dark green shows that there are many forest areas which means a lot of trees.

Here is a map of Coventry in the future which shows what will happen if we don’t take care of the trees. The green indicates that there are less forests. The tan indicates that Low Density Residential. We NEED to stop growing so quickly to save more trees.

How many times have you said… “Oh I wish they didn’t cut down so many trees just for that small portion of land”?

By cutting down less trees… It would help with Coventry having its own identity. Here on the right it shows how in Western Coventry there are trees And still room for housing.

Group Conclusion “So basically our main goal is to not cut down as many trees for a small building that won’t have much use. This should be applied to all zoning areas.”

Thank You for coming and listening to our thoughts to better our community!
