4  We exist to connect the people of our community with the hope found in a relationship with Jesus Christ.  Our ministry presently connects with persons from Fayette, Scott, Jessamine and Woodford Counties.

5  We have been located at our present campus for about 50 years.  Our campus is 3.3 acres.  Our present attendance is at its highest level in the history of the church.

6  Church worship attendance has increased from an average of 345 persons to 425.  Nearly 25% increase in one year.

8  220 Parking Spaces on Campus  25 available spaces adjacent to campus at the bank.  Ratio of 1.65 persons per vehicle  Permits approx. 363 persons with on campus parking.  Permits approx. 41 persons with adjacent parking at bank.

10  If people cannot find place to park, they will leave. Many will not return.  If parking problem continues without resolution in sight, our church will be limited in reaching others and fulfilling our mission of connecting persons with the message of hope through Jesus Christ.

11  Additional Worship Service added August, 2013.  Now there is 8:15 and 10:45 services.  Current attendance at first service has freed 1/3 of parking congestion from the second service.  9:00 a.m. Sunday School hour continues to remain congested.

13  Will a different layout with specific traffic flow allow greater capacity of parking spaces?  If adjacent lot is purchased and we are able to re-purpose for parking, what do we gain?

14 Assignment Design a new parking lot and striping to maximize parking for Lexington’s Broadway Baptist Church Use references provided, as needed Find out if Lexington has parking standards – if so, make sure your design accommodates them Similarly, satisfy ADA, Fire Department access and zoning setbacks Due Tuesday October 29 at beginning of class
