21. Started in Adult Basic Education Sophie Lee enrolled in VIU’s nursing degree after completing ABE courses. Dr. Tanya Griffiths credits her ABE experience at the Cowichan Campus for encouraging her to pursue a career in science. After completing her Biology degree at VIU, she completed her PhD at UBC.

22. Adult Basic Education Ryan Glover enrolled in ABE without a place to live, recovering from a meth addiction. Now, clean for 5 years, Ryan is helping people on the street turn their lives around through education.
