EE/CS 480 Fall 2008 2 University of Portland School of Engineering Overview Introduction Scorecard Additional Accomplishments Plans Issues/Concerns Conclusions

EE/CS 480 Fall 2008 3 University of Portland School of Engineering Introduction Programmable Logic Solar Radiant Heating System

EE/CS 480 Fall 2008 4 University of Portland School of Engineering Scorecard Last Month –Finalise general/mechanical side design –Get donated materials (mainly: storage, collector) –Define document/turn-in reqs for interdisciplinary project Completed: –Design finished (until we realise we messed something up) –Have collectors. Waiting on water storage from UP. –Documents split up Shortcomings: –Donors proving to be hard to find –Long time to define system

EE/CS 480 Fall 2008 5 University of Portland School of Engineering Additional Accomplishments List any additional accomplishments Include from 3-5 of them Limit to the past month

EE/CS 480 Fall 2008 6 University of Portland School of Engineering Plans Plans: –Functional specifications approval –Define mechanical interface –Define routines+params for Microcontroller

EE/CS 480 Fall 2008 8 University of Portland School of Engineering Concerns/Issues Concerns: –Must make sure that mechanical design definition is solid. Embedded system depends on it. –One ME for the entire system. –Building/construction codes.

EE/CS 480 Fall 2008 9 University of Portland School of Engineering Conclusions Main points: –Have the design –Almost have the materials –Worried about Jon What’s next? –Busy month –Need to lock down design + materials Questions?
