3. + Circles Velocity is the speed and direction of an object – if an object is travelling in a circle it is constantly changing direction This means the objects velocity is constantly changing (but not its speed) so the object is accelerating The acceleration is towards the centre of the circle

4. + Centripetal Force There must be a resultant force acting on the object causing this acceleration – this force acts towards the centre of the circle It is this force that keeps something moving in a circle – centripetal force (this force could be due to tension, friction, gravity etc…)
