2 Age and Training  18 or older is the minimum age of a staff member.  A 16 year old can work in a child care center but has to be enrolled in an approved training curriculum.  6 hours of continuing education is required for each staff member.

3 Facility Persons’ positions  Director- is responsible for the general management of the facility and they must have a bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood education and child development.  Group Supervisor- plans and implements daily programs. They coordinate activities of assistant group supervisors and aides. They need also need a bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary children, or human services.

4 Facility Persons’ Positions  Assistant Group Supervisor- Assisting in the implementation of daily activities under the guidance of the group supervisor. Coordinate daily activities and supervising aides in the absence of the group supervisor. They need a high school diploma or a general educational development certificate and 30 credit hours from and accredited college or university, including 600 or more hours or secondary training.  Aide- responsible for assisting in the implementation of daily program activities. They should have a high school diploma or a general educational development certificate. A minimum of 8 th grade education and 2 years of experience with children and should be supervised at all times by a staff person qualified at minimum as an assistant group supervisor.

6 (Adult Health) five health assessment requirements  A physical examination.  Tuberculosis screening by the Mantoux method at initial employment.  Examination of communicable diseases and results of the examination.  Information on medical problems that might threaten the health of the children or prohibit a staff person from providing adequate care to children.  The physicians or CRNP’s assessments of the person’s suitability to provide child care.

7 (Adult Records) Five required documents for each adult staff member  The name, address, and telephone number of facility person.  Verifications of age, child care experience, education, and training following the outset of service at the facility. Acceptable verification of experience, education of training is a transcript or a diploma or a letter signed by a representative of the experimental, educational, or training entity.  Written report of initial and subsequent health assessments, including the results of tuberculin skin tests, x-rays, or other medical documentation.  Copy of requests for the criminal history record and child abuse registry clearance information, copy of disclosure statement, and a completed clearance information required under the CPSL.  Two written, nonfamily references from individuals attesting to the persons suitability to serve as a facility person.

10 Family Child Care  The maximum number of children may not exceed six.  The ratios of staff-child  If no infants are in care, 5 toddlers are permitted.  If 1 infants in care, 4 toddlers are permitted.  If 2 infants in care, 3 toddlers are permitted.
