2 2Microsoft Office 2007-Illustrated Introductory, Windows XP Edition Creating and Saving a File/Document To save a file the first time: 1.Click File > “Save As” 2.In the “Save in” box, select the location where you want the file saved. 3.In the “File name” box, give the file a name. 4.Click the “SAVE” button. After you save the file the first time, you can then: Use the quick keys CTRL + SUse the quick keys CTRL + S Click the SAVE button. Word WordPad Click the SAVE button. Word WordPad Click to select the location in which to save the file Type new filename here

The USB ports on your computer might be in the front or back of the CPU. On a notebook, the ports might be on the back or side. The name of the flash drive that appears in Windows Explorer depends on the brand. The letter assigned to your flash drive might vary from what is shown and referenced in this unit NOTE: If you can’t locate the various drives, click the “MY COMPUTER” icon and the drives will appear as shown here.
