2 2 Methods to Submit Plan 1. Online using the County-hosted redistricting software at select locations 2. CD from those with Maptitude’s desktop version of the Redistricting software 3. Hardcopy with CD

4 4 Option 1: County-hosted software FAQ guide Step-by-step guide for online software Recaps items needed for Desktop software and hardcopy submittals http://egov.ocgov.com/ocgov/Government/Redistricting First time users Need access to active email address at first log in to validate account May need more than one session Plan does not need to be completed in one session Once a user account is created it can be accessed from any County-hosted site

5 5 Optional Verification of Submitted Plan If verification email that online plan was received is desired: Send an email from the email address used to submit the plan, along with your user name, to ddiep@fullerton.edu requesting verificationddiep@fullerton.edu Response via email within one (1) business day

6 6 Option 2: Those with Desktop software For those with Maptitude’s desktop Redistricting software From the Redistricting/Plan Utilities/Export Plan menu- export a binary file (*.bin). Submit CD to CDR with *.bin file Item 9- summary narrative of proposed plan

7 7 Option 3: Hardcopy with CD 4 required items outlined in the Redistricting Kit Partial Census Tracts assigned to proposed Supervisorial Districts (Item 3C) General map of proposed districts (Item 6) Summary tables of proposed plan elements (Item 7) Narrative description of proposed plan (Item 9) If applicable: Block assignments if partial tracts are split (Item 8)

Registered voters information by census tract 5. Recent supervisorial elections results by census tract 6. Three (3) County base maps- 1 map showing proposed districts is REQUIRED 7. Summary table of elements of the plan, including sample. REQUIRED ITEM 8. Partial Census Tract Forms. REQUIRED ITEM if applicable 9. Narrative description REQUIRED ITEM 10. Map to CDR

27 27 Deadlines for Proposed Redistricting Plans May 4- 5:00PM if you want CDR to review your proposal for requirement compliance. May 18, 2011 5:00PM is final deadline to submit in hardcopy, online, or CD in order to be considered by the Redistricting Committee. Neither the County nor CDR is responsible for rejection of proposals that are either not received by the deadline or are incomplete or that do not comply with the requirements listed in the public participation plan. Don’t wait until the last minute, give yourself plenty of time and a buffer zone before the deadline.
