2 Forum objectives Recognize conditions that are conducive to intersectoral action Share information and discuss with other stakeholders regarding the actions and initiatives being taken in our respective communities Identify our needs

4 Definition INTERSECTORAL ACTION The alignment of efforts and communications between partners involved in different areas of intervention who have joined forces and committed themselves to offering services of sufficient complementarity to their clients

5 Advantages All partners benefit from offering their services to a larger client base and, in return, from requesting that the services of other partners be offered to their own clientele Participation of partners from different areas of intervention Opportunity to draw on each partner’s expertise Greater potential for taking action and making a difference on the social determinants of health

7 Favourable conditions The missions, roles, responsibilities and tasks assumed by the different partners have been clearly defined Joint action is acknowledged to be more effective than actions taken at the individual or sector-wide level Partners are compatible on certain levels and have reciprocal commitments that are advantageous for all parties involved Partners are aware that their contributions are meaningful and they recognize their limitations Partners are able to receive constructive criticism in a professional manner and evolve throughout this interactive process
