2 Do Now: 1. How much would you weigh on Jupiter if the acceleration due to gravity there is 25.1 m/s 2 ? 2. Are mass and weight the same thing? Describe their similarities and/or differences.

3 Do Now (11/21): 1. Draw a force diagram for the following: A. A soccer ball rolling on the ground at constant speed. B. A skateboarder accelerating. C. An apple falling off a tree. 2. For each of the previous questions, label the diagrams as balanced or unbalanced.

11 Calculating net force Add up the sum of the forces in the x and y directions forces in the same direction add their magnitudes: Forces in opposite directions subtract, with the sign the same as the larger force:
