6 Biggest French Speaking Populations By Percent - Quebec 81.8%, New Brunswick 29.7%, Ontario 2.5%, PEI 2.1% By Population - Quebec 6,085,152, Ontario 304,707, NB 232,975, Alberta 21,374, Manitoba 20,515 Canada total - 6,691,928 people, or 21.4% That means when you are traveling outside of Canada every 5th Canadian you meet will be a Francophone

8 Manitoba Manitoba has a notable French population mostly around Winnipeg with several communities out in the country About 663 Winnipeggers are French-only speakers 72,997 Winnipeggers speak both French and English fluently

9 New Brunswick Is the only officially bilingual province in Canada. Approximately 232,975 people of the NB population are Francophone This is roughly 33% of the population of NB

10 Nova Scotia There is also a large population of Acadians in NS - Appx 32,540 French speakers

11 PEI PEI has a Francophone population of 5,345 which isn’t that big, but neither is PEI. It represents about 4% of the population.

12 French Centres Within Ontario Sudbury - 16.3% Francophone Ottawa - 14.9% Francophone and 37% bilingual

13 Mississauga Total native speakers of French in Mississauga is currently 7835 Side note - Mississauga is named such because of a vote between Sheridan and Mississauga (which is a tribe of Native Americans that inhabited this area of Ontario)
