13 RNA Types  The three principle RNA types are  Ribosomal RNA (rRNA): This forms the “factories” where proteins are made.  Transfer RNA (tRNA): This RNA collects and brings amino acids into the ribosomes for protein synthesis.  Messenger RNA (mRNA): This is the template for which amino acids are placed in the correct order.
