6 Laptop Cart Keys Keys should be CAREFULLY turned & removed Do not leave them in the cart doors Cart keys are housed with the following point people: ▫4 th Floor - Ms. Gleason ▫3 rd Floor - Ms. Colisimo ▫2 nd Floor – Ms. Boerschig ▫1 st Floor – Ms. Clark ▫Carts & keys must be returned to the above teachers

7 Consideration: Carts & Colleagues All laptops are numbered, teachers must ASSIGN laptops to students and keep track of student users Teachers should make sure students SHUT DOWN their laptops before putting them in the mobile cart Place all laptops in their labeled slots with wires NEATLY in appropriate slots Plug power wires back into laptops, however, DO NOT leave computers charging over night (turn off power switch in the back or unplug) Before allowing your students to print, please make sure select the pages that they want to print and are not selecting excess pages. Create and enforce printing rules for your class Cart & key must be returned to the floor cart point person

8 Reporting Laptop Cart Issues Please report ALL issues (hardware & software) A.S.A.P. so that they can be repaired in a timely manner Complete Laptop repair slip completely & submit top portion to Ms. Boerschig & bottom portion should be lightly taped to laptop

10 Technology Contracts ALL students must read & sign a technology contract before beginning to use laptops/computers in our school Parents/Guardians must also read & sign contract These contracts are an official agreement & will be filed ANY violation of this contract will terminate a student’s privilege to use a laptop/computer

12 Review: MS104 Technology Contract I understand that the use of technology is a privilege, not a right, and inappropriate use will result on the cancellation of those rights. I will use the technology equipment for educational purposes only. When using school computers, I will: ▫be polite ▫use appropriate language ▫not look at or use anyone else's work without permission

13 Review: MS104 Technology Contract I will treat all technology equipment (mice, keyboards, headphones, hardware and software) with care. Vandalism will result on the cancellation of my privileges and other disciplinary actions. I will not install "pirated software" or knowingly use flash drives with viruses on any equipment. I will not download files that are inappropriate or that could render our network inoperable by exceeding its capability. (Music, programs, videos etc.)

14 Review: MS104 Technology Contract I will always log off my workstation after finishing my work. I will not use technology equipment for games, to do so will result in an instant referral. E-mail should only be checked for assignments sent to school. For no other reason should students check their e-mail.

15 Review: MS104 Technology Contract I will not open, delete, move or modify other people's files without their permission. I will not change any settings. I will only use the Internet for appropriate learning activities. I understand that I am not allowed to search for inappropriate content or access inappropriate sites on the Internet. I recognize and honor the intellectual property of others. I will comply with legal restrictions regarding plagiarism and the use and citation of information resources
