Lesson Procedure

Beginning: Warm-up The lesson will start off with a warm-up activity in which students respond to questions in Spanish (using family vocabulary) about the family tree of TV’s Family Guy. This will help students to practice more with the vocabulary before starting the project. This should take no more than ten minutes. The Family Guy family tree PowerPoint activity can be found on the Repurposed Lesson Plans page on the Wiki underneath my lesson plan

Introduction After the warm-up activity, the project handout is passed out and read through as a class. The distinction between the two projects is clarified. This should take about five minutes (including time for questions as well). The project handout can be found on the Repurposed Lesson Plans page on the Wiki underneath my lesson plan.

Introduction (cont.) Brief modeling will be done to remind students how to use the technology. A “mini” PhotoStory (using two photos as an example) will be created to show students how to:  Google and save photos to H:Drive  Upload photos to PhotoStory 3 and create transitions, narrations, text titles  Use soundzabound.com or a similar site to download and save music to H:Drive and upload it to PhotoStory  Create a credits page using PowerPoint and saving slides as JPEG images to import into PhotoStory  Save their PhotoStory projects This should take no more than ten minutes.

Implementation Students will work individually in the computer lab for the remainder of that class day and two subsequent days creating their projects. Students will also have the opportunity to take projects home to put finishing touches on projects if they choose to do so, however it is not required and students will be provided enough time in class to finish.

Finishing up The last day in the computer lab (this is the third day) all projects will be collected on a flash drive (so they can be used later for grading purposes and to make the presentation process easier). This should be done as students finish the entire last day in the lab.

Presentation Students will present their projects to the class by playing them through the teacher computer and watch via the SMARTBoard in the classroom. This will take the entirety of the fourth day.
