1 e-Reg An electronic register for monitoring student attendance The e-Reg project won the runner-up award and progressed as finalists in the BluePrint Business Planning Competition (2009).

Provides an electronic register. 2. Records to a central database. 3. Provides timely tracking of non-attending students. 4. Enables improved classroom utilisation.

3 COSTS Current paper based recording costs are unknown, they exist within various inefficient processes. One estimate puts them at £369,600 p.a. (£44 per week x 28 teaching weeks x 300 teaching staff). Each e-Reg unit costs £199.00, plus annual software license of £99.00 p.a. Hence saving of at least £280,200 in year 1 and £339,900 in subsequent years. No contractual tie in after year 1. Lost or damaged units replaced at cost price).
