1 STEM CAREER THANK YOU- WHY Sending a thank you letter is standard practice after the interview. It's one way to show your interviewer how enthusiastic you are about the position and it gives you a chance to reiterate your qualifications. Always send a thank you, even if you aren't excited about the job. A well-written thank you note can set you apart from other candidates who may have forgotten to write theirs, and it exhibits your professionalism.

2 STEM CAREER THANK YOU- WHY Send the letter within 24 hours of the interview. It's important to note that about half of applicants don't send a thank you note after an interview. If you're one of the applicants who does spend a few minutes taking the time to send a thank you note to your interviewers it will be worth the effort.

3 STEM CAREER THANK YOU- HOW 1-start by referencing the DAY/DATE of interview 2-Tell the professional how much you enjoyed meeting with him and how much you learned about the position. 3-Express how learning more about the position and the company has deepened your understanding of a STEM related career and helped to further your education. 4-Recap two or three of your most impressive skills that interested you in this position. 5-Acknowledge the time commitment the professional made for you. Recognize that their time is valuable. -Close the letter with "Sincerely" and sign your name.
