6. Rocks We have found many different rocks in our area. Some of them being… Limestone Quartz We had found limestone right in our backyard! We identified this rock by the color and the reaction it made with hydrochloric acid. We identified our rock as quartz because of its shape, color, and luster Lignite We used an online resource to find this rock but have seen it around our area Pyrite Used an online resource to find this mineral and also is around our area Calcite Found calcite outside in our back yard Used an online resource to identify it
