12. The Resolutions of Jonathan Edwards (1722-1723)

13. Jonathan Edwards At the age of 19, Edwards began writing a list of resolutions that were designed to help him become a better person, but, more importantly to him, a better Christian. To help transform his life, he vowed to read over the resolutions once a week. The first 21 resolutions were written down in one setting in 1722. He added to list over the next year and ended up with 70.

14. Jonathan Edwards’ Resolutions Being sensible that I am unable to do any thing without God’s help, I do humbly entreat him, by his grace, to enable me to keep these Resolutions, so far as they are agreeable to his will, for Christ’s sake. Remember to read over these Resolutions once a week.
