Med-View gives students the opportunity to find out what life is like as a medical student and a practicing doctor. Attendees take part in various interactive workshops including clinical skills, UKCAT practice, work experience hints and tips and interview preparation, as well as clinical placements to local hospital wards and GP surgeries. Med-View application forms will be available online and via e-mail from early December. Applications must be received by 2nd February 2015. MEDICINE 101 These workshops provide support and guidance for potential medical school applicants. Each workshop covers a different aspect of the application process, from entry requirements to UCAS personal statements, interview preparation and communication exercises to UKCAT practice sessions, critical analysis of medically- themed research papers to group debates. All workshops are run by King’s College staff and will take place on selected Monday evenings throughout the academic year.

6 This year's programme is set to include: · A workshop sequence focussing on professional skills (including CVs and interviewing, presentation skills and business etiquette) and improving technical knowledge of financial services · A mentoring programme, that has been significantly developed this year to encourage better mentor / mentee engagement · Potentially work shadowing opportunities for the best performing students · A celebration event at the end of the year to celebrate student participation and achievement Barclays programme with Generating GeniusGenerating Genius free of charge.

7 The event proper will begin next year in 2015; however, all prospective students will need to attend an introductory lecture this month which aims to provide information on the programme, as well as serving as an opportunity for students, teachers and parents to have any questions answered by either a member of the Generating Genius team or a Barclays representative.Generating Genius This lecture will take place on Tuesday 16 th December from 17:30 – 18:30 and will be based at University College London. Eligible students will be: - From a black ethnic background - Studying maths and / or economics and / or business studies at AS level, with an interest in finance - Performing well academically - Reliable and highly motivated The application process for this programme will be competitive, so students who attend the presentation will all be asked to submit applications before a final selection is made.
