3 STLP Mission The Mission of the Student Technology Leadership Program (STLP) is –to advance the individual capabilities –to motivate all students –to create leadership opportunities through the use of technology.

4 STLP Goals The STLP will develop activities which enhance the academic, social and emotional growth of the student. The STLP will provide leadership opportunities for all students. The STLP will experience multi-age collaboration by forming innovative learning partnerships

5 STLP Goals (continue) The STLP will form learning partnerships between students with different technology skills. The STLP will develop activities which benefit communities. The STLP will develop instructional activities which integrates technology and benefits the school and support KETS (Kentucky Education Technology System)

6 What does a good STLP look like? Recruitment –All interested students are allowed to participate in some way or another. –STLP students are a cross section of grade levels. –STLP population reflects the school population. –No students are excluded.

7 What does a good STLP look like? Publicity –Parents and school community members are aware of the program. –Teachers and staff within the building recognize the worth of STLP. –The STLP potential and projects are known outside the building as well as within.

8 What does a good STLP look like? Vision –Students understand the STLP Mission and Goals. –The STLP sees a vision of what they can do now and will do in future projects. The students understand they are making a difference in their school or community.

9 What does a good STLP look like? Decision Making –To determine some of the projects they undertake, STLP Schools look at the school technology needs (the Comprehensive School Improvement Plan) the interests and the abilities of the students the community needs

10 What does a good STLP look like? Project based –Students work in small groups to complete a project the students have planned. –The group has a make up of starters, trainers, liaisons and providers that work as a team to help carry out the project. –A Cluster Leader can be appointed from the team to work directly with the STLP Coordinator. –Projects that the students do for the school and community are: Instructional Community Technical Entreprenuerial
