2 Introduction Consider Paul’s life –Saul of Tarsus, enemy of Christ –Paul the apostle, defender of the faith Understood he belonged –Purchased (1 Corinthians 7:23) –Crucified with Christ (Galatians 2:20) –Saved by grace (1 Corinthians 15:10)

3 The Joy of Salvation The magnitude of his salvation –The magnitude of his sins (1 Corinthians 15:9; 1 Timothy 1:12-15) –Joyous over the chance to be saved

4 The Joy of Salvation Motivated him to … –Suffer persecution (2 Corinthians 11) –Establish churches (Romans 15:20) –Set them in order (Acts 14:23)

7 The Terror of The Lord Are we aware of it? –Preachers water down what the Bible says about hell and punishment –Fail to warn of destruction (Matthew 7:13, 14) –Some raised to damnation (John 5:28, 29)

8 The Terror of The Lord Demonstrated it in his life –Stirred to preach and warn (Acts 17:16) –Knew of the wrath and tribulation awaiting the wicked (Romans 2:5-11) –If we did, we would fight Satan together (1 Peter 5:8)

9 His Treasure in Heaven Made it his goal to reach heaven –Forget about money –Put emphasis in the right place (Matthew 6:19-34)

10 His Treasure in Heaven Our life is different –Hidden with God (Philippians 3:20) –Seek what is above (Colossians 3:1-4) –We are pilgrims here (1 Peter 2:11, 12) –God wants us to come home (Hebrews 11:9-16, 39, 40)
