9. Police Department Radio System Project Dispatch Operations
Implemented radio system to improve interoperability.
Migrated Virginia Tech Police and Blacksburg Police operations to common radio spectrum to improve communications and interoperability.
Officers can now communicate directly with member law enforcement agencies and dispatch centers during any event.
Leveraged same microwave backbone for infrastructure needs.
Virginia Tech Rescue will soon benefit from same infrastructure allowing another level of interoperability.
