2 Background: NHSWI-wide staff survey, 2013 Most respondents were generalists Most had cared for someone dying in last 12 months Saddened by loss of LCP Desire for formal guidance for care of the dying Desire to be better informed and able to deliver end of life care

3 Development of local ICP Local adaptation of ‘All-Wales Integrated Care Priorities for Last Days of Life’ For all care settings Crib sheet for less experienced to help convey important messages Information sheets for families Piloted in hospice before pilots in community and hospital wards – on-going

Working with care workers to help them recognise dying and shift in emphasis of care Held ‘end of life care’ learning events in Stornoway and Benbecula Weekly school term time ‘lunch and learn’ sessions linking all parts of the islands by VC. Topics identified at eolc learning events.
